SOLO TRAVEL TO PUERTO RICO + Gaining Clarity- Marriott Hotel
Hey Beautiful Souls!
I’m so excited to share with you my solo trip to Puerto Rico. I needed a short getaway and Puerto Rico was perfect! Only 4hours away from NYC and the airfare ticket was only $150 roundtrip!
Being a full-time influencer, business owner, and designer makes it hard for me to actually take a break. When you work for yourself it is hard to create a structure that you can stick to since you are so passionate about your work you simply don’t know when you turn it off.
I wanted to spend my time from the brutal cold and sunbath my way to clarity and Puerto Rico was the perfect home for that.
HOME:
I landed in San Juan, it is a small city packed with beautiful beaches, hotels, and restaurants most places are only 15-20 mins away from the airport.
My goal was to spend the whole day at the beach. For the first few days, I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriot in Isla Verda San Juan. This resort was so beautiful! Hammocks available, tall palms trees, soft sand surrounded by the prettiest teal blue ocean.
I highly suggest coming here if it is your first time, it is only 5-10mins away from the airport. Uber is used everywhere here, and you use American currency.
As a solo traveler, I like to first settle into a resort to get an idea of what to expect for the rest of my trip. The staff was extremely helpful.
I got an ocean view room, and I must admit I did dance on the balcony while looking at the ocean. It was so exciting to step away from the cold and treat myself to the warmth.
BODY:
Sleep was important for me on this trip. Luckily the bedding was perfectly comfortable. I wanted to focus on resting my body. Yoga on the beach was a must! Every morning I headed to the beach, I put on my Karama yoga leggings and grabbed Karama’s meditation mat.
Listening to the ocean waves crash was the perfect way to bring in clarity.
MIND:
It took a few days for me to settle in and bring comfort into my mind but as soon as I did, I knew it was time to explore Old San Juan. I met up with an old friend, she gave me a quick tour. The next day I was comfortable enough to take an uber and discover Old San Juan alone. The pastel colors of the city truly inspired me to create a new collection. I couldn’t help but smile.
The purpose of this trip was to find clarity for the rest of the year. An exercise you can try if you feel like you are in the same boat is to go somewhere new if you can. It doesn’t need to be a new city it can be somewhere local like a new cafe or a new park somewhere where your brain is distracted by the new environment.
Once you are there, take a moment to discover the place, after your adventure, head to a secluded area with a notebook and pen or in my case, my phone and start writing what is on your mind.
You see you cant gain clarity in the environment you are constantly in. It is harder for you to concentrate when you are distracted by the daily chores you will face.
Changing the scene allows your mind to focus on what is in front of you.
I was lucky enough to gain some clarity in my work. I discussed more about it in my Youtube video. How I am slightly changing my passion but still keeping it in alignment with my purpose.
