Planning a getaway during uncertain times
Reconnect with Nature.
Hi loves! It is no doubt that 2020 has been an interesting year so far. As many of you know, I was quarantined since January because of a broken ankle. I couldn’t wait to heal and get back outside. Unfortunately when that happened so did COVID-19. I was now stuck inside for a couple more weeks.
I knew I had to escape but I wanted to stay safe. That is when I came across the Getawayhouse cutest tiny cabins located in the Catskills (They have outposts across America). I knew I had to go and reconnect with nature.
The journey
The great thing about these cabins was the fact that it was only a 2 hour drive from NYC. The drive itself was senceic. I felt the crisp air as soon as I drove up to the mountains. A full tank of gas can get you there and take you back home. No pit stops needed.
TIP: When planning your getaway find somewhere local. The less interactions you have with people the safer it is for everyone else and yourself.
Tiny Cabin
When I say I fell in love with a cabin, I mean it! The tiny cabins are perfectly placed in the woods, so you and nature are one.
I believe this the safest place to travel during a pandemic. There is no human contact. You receive a text before you arrive with your code to enter the cabin. Inside the cabin, there is a mini fridge, stove, utensils, landline phone, AC/Heater, high-quality organic food (for purchase), a cellphone lockbox and a shower/toilet.
Everything you need to enjoy your time away from any distractions. Unplug and recharge.
Relax
Now it is time to do what you came here for- relax.
I allowed myself to do nothing but be one with nature. Nature has always been my inspiration for everything I do especially when it comes to my brand Karama.
I want to inspire you to live life like every day was a vacation.
Planning an escape during difficult times I believe is needed. Even if it is for one night just to disconnect from everything. No phones. I kept my phone on airplane mode.
Allowing your mind, body, and soul to reconnect and balance by simply enjoying the silence.
The art of doing nothing
I have always dreamt of sleeping under the stars. With the large window inside the cabin, I was able to finally do! It was so magical. The simple joy of stargazing and soaking in nature wasn’t the only thing I was excited about, toasting s’mores around the campfire was also on my bucket list! The Getawayhouse provided a cute s’more packet.
I hope you have a chance to plan a little escape. I highly recommend Getawayhouse. But even if you can’t do so, try to plan a staycation. I share my tips on this blog post on how you can plan your staycation.
Whatever you do, try to find your inner peace to help navigate you during this difficult season.
